Our piston drawing database contains over 1,000 drawings for compressor makes as diversified as Ariel to Gardner Denver to Delaval. Piston styles range from solid Cast Iron and Aluminum, to drilled and sculpted, 2pc./3pc. designs, Steel or Cast Iron ring carriers, and spray bronze riders. All new piston designs are analyzed by finite element software to test structural integrity.

Quick turn-around is a must in the compressor industry, and that's where Southwest Compressor Services has made a difference. Most OEM's have extended delivery times on their cast pistons. That is just not acceptable to most gas producers, who need to be up and running as soon as possible. In most instances, Southwest can provide a replacement piston of equal or superior quality to OEM in a fast turn around to minimize downtime. If we don't have a drawing, we will manufacture a sample. The causes and effects of piston failure is carefully examined, and new designs strive to eliminate these.
